Max Morris - Ode

Ode to Prince

The purple studded trench coat,
the ruffly pirate shirt.
How can I express my admiration to thee?
You truly are the GOAT.

When I heard that funky bass riff,
blushed at those risqué lines,
When I saw the devilish smirk on your face,
My heart fell from a cliff.

Dirty Mind and Purple Rain,
Self-Titled, Sign O The Times,
Controversy, even Nineteen Ninety Nine,
all loved by those with a brain.

What would our world be without Prince?
I surely do not want to know.
There had never been an entertainer like him,
and surely never one since.

  1. Max I love you. Only you would think to write an ode to Prince, I love it. I liked the rhyme scheme you used because it didn't overpower the poem.
